Leap Day & Miguel Girão
Anna plays some Leap Day tracks & chats to Portuguese guitarist Miguel Girão about his musical background & his new EP, ‘The Northern Isles Suite’.
Many cultures hold traditions and superstitions surrounding Leap Years and many are associated with bad luck. On this Leap Day broadcast Anna is manifesting only good luck with some cracking Leap Year themed tracks.
Originally from the Portuguese Midlands with a classical guitar background, Miguel Girão has now settled in Glasgow and found a love for Scottish traditional music. His new EP 'The Northern Isles Suite' is a collection of traditional tunes from Orkney and Shetland arranged for solo acoustic guitar. He joins Anna live to chat about the music and finding a home from home in Scotland.
