Radio 2 Piano Room - Pet Shop Boys

Pet Shop Boys perform alongside the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra for the final day of Radio 2 Piano Room Month 2024. Plus there's another dive into Vernon's Vault after 10am

On the final day of Radio 2’s Piano Room month, Pet Shop Boys round off an incredible month of performances.

Pet Shop Boys are an award-winning English synth-pop duo with vocalist Neil Tennant and keyboardist Chris Lowe. They have sold more than 50 million records worldwide and have had huge success with tracks including West End Girls, It's a Sin, Always on My Mind and many others. Pet Shop Boys say: β€œWe’re delighted to be the final act announced for the Piano Room month on ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Radio 2. We’re looking forward to performing with our old friends the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ Concert Orchestra at Maida Vale Studios on February 23. As well as performing our new single, and an old song, we will also be covering a David Bowie song, but a Bowie song made famous by someone else…”

And 'Line Of Duty' star Martin Compston chooses his final Tracks of My Years. First shooting to fame in Ken Loach's 'Sweet 16' back in 2002, Martin’s had a varied career on big and small screen, but he's perhaps best loved for his role as DI Steve Arnott in the ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ'S smash-hit drama 'Line of Duty'. He's also had notable TV roles in Monarch of the Glen, The Nest, Traces and Vigil, and he's appeared in The Damned United, The Wee Man and A Guide To Recognizing Your Saints on the big screen.

In 2022, Martin and his good friend Phil MacHugh toured his beloved homeland in the series β€˜Martin Compston’s Scottish Fling’, and this month Martin returns with a new six part series β€˜Martin Compston’s Norwegian Fling.’
