Mary, Queen of Scots (1971)

Returning from France to rule Scotland, Mary Stuart gets a grudging welcome, while her cousin in England, Queen Elizabeth, must guard against Mary’s rival claim to her own throne.

A clash of personalities, loyalties and faiths ensues, causing conflict and suffering for many years.
