Charlotte Perkins Gilman - The Yellow Wallpaper

A woman in need of total rest for nervous depression, lies alone overtaken by a strange obsession. Starring Charlotte Emmerson.

A woman is taken to the country by her doctor husband in order to cure her of an unnamed illness - post-natal depression - after the birth of a child.

Instructed to have total rest and emptiness of mind and avoid stimulating company, the woman sinks into a still-deeper depression.

Alone in the top floor nursery of a rented house, she becomes obsessed with the yellow wallpaper and descends into madness...

Starring Charlotte Emmerson.
