Laura Anson fears no one will be able to run her country estate in Dorset when she goes.

Her son Julian is too preoccupied with his Foreign Office career. Meanwhile elderly Uncle David is cared for by gin-loving Dr Farley, who’s caught the eye of a much younger governess.

But routines are jolted when Frances Farrar – who lived with Laura as a child - reappears after 20 years as a divorcee with kids.

The loves, hopes and fears of a family are brought together and revealed over a few short hours.

A Chekhovian drama full of longing and regret.
