On the phone-in: with the Cycling World Championships starting in Glasgow this week, is Scotland’s biggest city ‘filthy and dilapidated’?
PHONE IN: Glasgow must capitalise on hosting the Cycling World Championships by using it to help clean up and rejuvenate the city, according to Labour MSP Paul Sweeney. His comments come after businessman Michael Bergson claimed the city was in a ‘state of filth and dilapidation’. Glasgow will host the majority of the 13 world cycling events, costing about £13m, from 3-13 August. Council leaders reject criticisms of how the city looks.
