The Mighty Rite

Celebrating Scotland’s classical world, Jamie MacDougall highlights the work of the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Scottish Symphony Orchestra in concert and other Scottish artists and ensembles.

This week Jamie shares Stravinsky’s spectacular Rite of Spring in a live concert recording by the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ SSO and Ryan Wigglesworth, plus a symphonic milestone by the African American composer William Dawson with the RSNO and conductor Kellen Gray. Also ahead of intimate performances of Brahms chamber music with Scottish pianist Susan Tomes this week, we hear her play more romantic music by Faure.
