Keala Settle

Reverend Kate Bottley is joined by the Tony Award-nominated Keala Settle, who shot to fame in the movie 'The Greatest Showman'.

Reverend Kate Bottley presents uplifting stories about life, love and modern spirituality, alongside a great soundtrack for your Sunday morning.

Their guest is the Tony Award-nominated Keala Settle, who shot to fame in the movie 'The Greatest Showman', playing the role of Lettie Lutz alongside Hugh Jackman and Zac Efron.

She tells Kate and Jason about her love of panto as she prepares to play the Fairy in 'Jack and the Beanstalk' at Northampton’s Royal & Derngate. She also talks about her performance of the anthemic 'This Is Me' in the global blockbuster movie 'The Greatest Showman', which earned her critical acclaim, and also shares what 2023 has in store for her.

Keala earned her Tony-nominations for her incredible Broadway performance of 'Norma Valderde' in Hands on a Hardbody. She is no stranger to the stage, and has starred in many other Broadway productions, including 'Les MisΓ©rables', 'Waitress' and 'Priscilla Queen of the Desert'. She also toured the US in the cast of 'Hairspray'.

Reverend Pat Allerton, better known as the Portable Priest, also joins to discuss his new book 'A Pocketful of Hope', which draws on his own journey of coming to faith and hopes to provide comfort to those who need it, confronting the challenges of modern life. During the first coronavirus lockdown in 2020, the west London vicar began visiting streets in Notting Hill, and then further afield, to deliver prayer and hymns through loudspeakers in an attempt to lift the spirits of Londoners in his parish.
