World Pipe Band Championships Special
With the World Pipe Band Championships returning to Glasgow Green for the first time since 2019, Gary West brings you the best of the action from the world's best pipe bands.
The Worlds are back! For the first time since 2019, pipe bands from across the globe have been gathering on Glasgow Green to do battle in the World Pipe Band Championships. After a two year lay-off due to the pandemic, the thirst for success is back, and stronger than ever! Gary West brings you the best of the action from the day's performances in the top grade. Will Inveraray and District retain the title they won in 2019? Will their main rivals this season, the Field Marshall Montgomery, pip them to the post? Or will another band emerge from the chasing pack to march off with the main prize? The Canadians are out in force, for example, with both the Simon Fraser University from Vancouver and the 78th Fraser Highlanders from Ontario having tasted success in the past. It's all to play for but one thing is certain - we will have an hour of the very finest pipe band music in the world today!
