Rankin chooses Tracks of My Years plus Katrina

Rankin, British photographer and director, chooses the Tracks of My Years plus the 1997 UK Eurovision winner Katrina from Katrina & The Waves chats about her new single, Holiday.

Rankin, British photographer and director, chooses the Tracks of My Years all week with Ken plus Katrina from Katrina & The Waves pops in to chat about her new single 'Holiday'. In 1997 Katrina & The Waves' Love Shine A Light won the Eurovision Song Contest with the largest ever margin, followed by an unprecedented four consecutive appearances on Top Of The Pops and a number 3 in the UK charts.

Rankin has photographed fashion models, notably Kate Moss and personalities including Madonna, David Bowie and the Queen.

During the Covid pandemic Rankin created a series of portraits of key health workers to highlight the essential services provided by the NHS while celebrating the individual subjects for their contribution to society.

In 2021 he hosted the Great British Photography Challenge on Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ4 and worked with Holocaust Memorial Day Trust as a celebrity judge for their Light Up The Darkness competition.

This week on the 14th May Rankin will be lead judge at the inaugural Abbey Road Studios Music Photography Awards – the first ever awards to celebrate the art of music photography. The MPAs will recognise the year’s most unforgettable, unique and unsung music moments and the varied and talented photographer who captured them.

The first two tracks Rankin has chosen come from Nelly Furtado and Stevie Wonder. Ken also has the daily love song plus another round of PopMaster. If you'd like to get in touch with the show email Ken.Bruce@bbc.co.uk
