Lin-Manuel Miranda chats to Zoe about the new Disney film 'Encanto', which he wrote original music for. Lin-Manuel is an award-winning songwriter, actor and director, known for his multi-award winning musical 'Hamilton', which tells the story of America's founding father Alexander Hamilton, his musical 'In The Heights', which has been performed on Broadway, on the West End, and earlier this year was released as a film. Plus, he wrote the music for the Disney film 'Moana'. He's making his directorial debut later this year, with the Netflix film 'tick, tick…BOOM!', which tells the story of Jonathan Larson, who wrote the musical 'RENT'.
Alison Hammond has a new book out 'You’ve Got To Laugh: Stories from a Life Lived to the Full', and in it she shares never-before-seen insight into her life: her loves, her losses - with a side order of gossip. Alison joined This Morning in 2002, and in 2021, became one of their main hosts, alongside Dermot O'Leary. This year she's also appeared on a new 鶹Լ entertainment show, 'I Can See Your Voice', alongside Amanda Holden, Jimmy Carr, and host Paddy McGuinness. She's also featured on Channel 4's Big Brother , I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!, Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity Great British Bake Off.
Plus Jay Flynn returns with another round of his Virtual Radio Quiz where he tests the team on their general knowledge to see who comes out on top.
Along with Clare Runacres on news, Richie Anderson on travel and Mike Williams on sport, Zoe and the team have the best start to your morning.

Pause For Thought
Recently I asked some of my friends to partake in a magazine quiz all about how well you knoweach other, and two of the phrases that came up repeatedly about me were ‘sentimental’ and ‘nostalgic’. I can’t deny, I’m a sucker for reminiscing back to the good old days and holding onto pebbles, bus passes, and even ill-fitted items of clothing, because they enable me to travel back in time to a point where I felt a deep emotion. Maybe a kiss, or a time where I felt free. And although I fear becoming a hoarder, letting go of things and people has never been my strong point.
For example, when I meet people I like for the first time, I automatically ask myself what if we build a relationship and then for whatever reason it ends, how can I hold on to this moment?Which I know is a bit intense when someone has introduced me less than 10 minutes ago! Knowing this about me, I don’t understand why my mum asked me to help her a few months back. My Gran is no longer able to live by herself and requires someone to be on call 24 hours a day, so my mum needed help packing up and cleaning out my gran's things. She should have known it would have been easier without me. I spent most of the time looking at photo albums and pulling old clothes out of bags allocated to charity, as some of the things were too sentimental for me to even fathom letting go.
There was so much history it looked like a museum, I even found her certificate of naturalisation as a British Citizen from the 1980s, but the best thingI found was a photograph of my Gran carrying 2 grip suitcases. That is all she brought with her from Jamaica. The 14th century Poet Imam Julaudine Rumi once said: “be like a sheet of paper with nothing on it, a spot of ground where nothing is growing, where something might be planted, a seed, possibly, from the divine.” The picture of my gran and her suitcasesreminded me that it is possible to start with nothing and have a garden of memories, and if I am brave enough to let go, one day I may have a garden of my own.
