Robert Plant, plus Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish
Robert Plant chats to Zoe about his new album with Alison Krauss, Raise The Roof, and Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish tell us about their new book, The Clanlands Almanac.
14 years later, we finally have a sequel to 'Raising Sand' - Robert Plant has reunited with Alison Krauss and they have a new album out - 'Raise The Roof'.
Robert Plant is a singer and songwriter, best known as the lead singer and lyricist of rock band Led Zeppelin. Like Mick Jagger, he was a legendary rock-and-roll front man. Although Led Zeppelin disbanded in 1980, Robert's success spans 50 years, and since they broke up, he's collaborated with the likes of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, and in 2008, Rolling Stone ranked him number 15 on their list of the 100 best singers of all time.
Sam Heughan and Graham McTavish, have a new book out - 'The Clanlands Almanac 鈥 a seasonal guide to all things Scotland'.
Sam Heughan is a Scottish actor, producer, author, and entrepreneur, best known for his role as Jamie Fraser in the historical drama series Outlander; Graham McTavish is a Scottish actor and author, known for playing Dwalin in The Hobbit film trilogy, Dracula in the Netflix's animated series Castlevania, and Dougal Mackenzie in Outlander.
Last year Sam and Graham released the book 'Clanlands: Whisky, Warfare, and a Scottish Adventure Like No Other', and in February this year released their documentary series, 'Men in Kilts: A Roadtrip with Sam and Graham'.

Pause For Thought
I鈥檝e been thinking a bit about the ways in which I can make my friends and family feel loved. I got it a bit wrong recently and it made me reflect.听One of my favourite music artists was playing a show and quite a few of my family members were also fans so I got all of us some tickets, including my mum. I was quite excited to tell everyone but when I told my mum, she wasn鈥檛 as happy as I expected her to be.听I asked her why, and she replied, son, even though I鈥檓 grateful for this lovely gesture, what I鈥檇 really love is to have some lunch or dinner with you and catch up properly as we haven鈥檛 done that for a while. Concerts are great but it would mean more if I got to spend some quality time having quality conversation with you. Since your father passed away, I鈥檝e really missed having someone to talk to regularly.听

Hearing that broke my heart and made me realise that I often love people in the way that I like to be loved. I remember hearing about love languages a few years ago. There are 5 love languages. They are: quality time, physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, and receiving gifts. Apparently, whichever love language we enjoy receiving is the one we鈥檙e most likely to give out.听So for example, I quite like receiving gifts and that鈥檚鈥 why me buying my mum a concert ticket makes sense. But my mums love language is quality time and great conversation, so sharing me with 1000鈥檚 of other people at a loud concert in an Arena probably isn鈥檛 the most loving thing I could do for her! My mum really challenged me to try to love people in the way that they like to be loved.听

On my wedding day the Vicar read out a few verses from the Bible that were beautiful. He said,听Love is patient,听love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud.听It does not dishonor others, and it is not self-seeking. So mum, if you鈥檙e listening, which I bet you are because you love Zoe, I鈥檒l take you out for dinner next week and thanks for the reminder.听
