A fit of the blues drags down Kirsty while Tony smells a rat.

Natasha surprises Tony in his model railway barn. She’s never been in there before and takes an interest when she realises the barn’s not part of the working farm. She moots it as possible space for her business – a bit small but it could work. Shocked Tony tries to discourage her not only with its size, but citing the unsuitable ground and access issues. Out of her earshot Tony confides Natasha’s suggestion to Pat. Pat reiterates the unsuitability of the barn; there are more appropriate options for Natasha’s office. Tony insists Natasha sounded serious about the barn, and whilst he did his best to talk her out of it, he’s not sure she got the message.
Speaking to Philip has reminded Kirsty of the idyllic life she was once planning. Instead she’s still folding towels at Grey Gables. Helen tries to buoy her up, reminding her she doesn’t have to visit Philip, and that she has vital roles still to fulfil in the village. On her quest for fresh air and a clearer head Kirsty visits the rewilding site and finds Rex, who shows her round. She’s amazed at the transformation and praises his efforts. Rex should be proud of what he’s achieved: a thriving little pork business and an extraordinary land scheme. Kirsty thoroughly enjoys her tour and is inspired; even when things look really awful, give them a little time and they will get better.
