Jerry Cantrell from Alice In Chains chooses his Rock God, Johnnie remembers Lou Reed for 'This Week In Rock' and there's a slightly spooky theme to some of the tunes...

There is no mistaking Jerry Cantrell's guitar sound, be it with Alice In Chains or on his own. He's getting ready to release his first solo album in almost 20 years - 'Brighten'. Since the dawn of the '90's with late vocalist Layne Staley, Jerry has forged ahead with a deluge of sound. His ability to traverse the dark, doom-laden riffs of grunge with tender melody is almost unrivalled in his generation.

His choice of Rock God is a fine one, expertly chosen and for good reason too.

Also on the show, Johnnie remembers Lou Reed for 'This Week In Rock', and we hear a snippet of a chat between Johnnie and Lou thanks to the Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Archives.

Finally - we can't ignore the fact that it's (almost) Halloween. A great excuse for Johnnie to air a clutch of classic tracks which lean towards the darker side, something which rock has been particularly successful at over the years, courtesy of Black Sabbath, Iron Maiden and the king of scary rock n' roll, Alice Cooper.
