Joy brings worrying news and Chris attempts to move forwards.

While checking the Anguses, Pat and Tony revel in having Helen, Lee and the boys over for dinner. Pat spots a problem with one of the cows and wonders if it could be down to litter left by people holidaying in the countryside. They’re looking forward to more normal times now the school holidays are over, including the Harvest Supper which Brookfield are hosting.

Jennifer calls in on Chris at the forge. She’s put a casserole for him in the freezer at The Nest and bought Martha some pram shoes. Chris insists he’s managing to look after Martha as a single parent. Jennifer thinks he’s being very magnanimous about Alice’s decision not to move back to the Nest. Chris keeps quiet when he clocks that Jennifer doesn’t know that he and Alice have split up. They’re interrupted by Amy who’s also dropped in with a gift for Martha. Chris invites Amy to join him, Fallon and Harrison for an evening out. She can join as soon as she’s finished an event her dad has volunteered her for.
Joy finds Tony taking a look at Lee’s car. He apologises for disturbing her but she says it’s no problem, she was only checking it wasn’t the other person who’s been hanging around. Joy describes to Tony seeing an unidentifiable man walking up and down the road. When she went out to confront him, he’d gone. After saying it out loud to Tony, she’s sure she’s fretting over nothing.
