The more we buy online the more we're sending back, but what makes a good returns policy? And, what impact has the lockdown had on the European resorts that rely on UK tourists?
The more we buy online the more we're sending back - but what makes a good returns policy? Since the start of lockdown online sales have increased. But, when it comes to clothes, many of us buy several sizes with the intention of returning some of them. Market research firm Mintel says that in the last year, almost half of UK online shoppers have sent something back. But getting your money back is not always a straightforward process. We hear how of our much business companies could be losing if they don't get their returns right.
You may be dreaming of lying on a Spanish beach, but spare a thought for the hospitality industry there. Although the UK government has added some new destinations to the green travel list, like Spain's Balearic Islands, hoteliers in countries like Spain and Turkey, that rely on British holidaymakers, say that's unlikely to make up for the huge losses they've seen over the last year. Spain is the second most popular destination in the world - 83 and half million people visited in 2019. But according to figures from the United Nations' World Tourism Organisation, in the first three months of this year those figures were down 92 per cent.
And we meet some of the older people decided to get tattooed in later life! The UK is the most tattooed nation in the world, with an estimated one in three young adults having at least one tattoo. Well over 40% of all millennials have tattoos, and 92% of people with tattoos are already looking for the next one. But now older people are joining the club. We speak to a 66 year old at a Stockport tattoo parlour, who had her first inking in lockdown.
