The CBSO at 100

From Symphony Hall, Birmingham, Tom McKinney introduces a special concert, conducted by music director Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla, given as part of an evening on Radio 3 to mark the orchestra's 100th anniversary. The evening includes features, archive recordings and interviews in salute of one the county's foremost and much loved musical institutions. The opening concert, given on the actual day of the orchestra's first official concert foregrounds two composers with direct historical links to the orchestra, and another who, like the CBSO, has an anniversary this year.
