Blue Note and Indonesian Flavours
Cerys discovers Indonesian flavours with Coconut and Sambal writer Lara Lee. Plus records from legendary Blue Note artists and Jazz 625 archive from Dizzy Gillespie.
Cerys discovers Indonesian flavours with Coconut and Sambal cook Lara Lee. By exploring the kitchens of her grandmother, extended family and wider communities for her debut cookbook, Lara learnt how Indonesian food had formed her identity. She shares tracks which conjure memories from her trips to Timor, where her father is from and travelling by brightly coloured buses.
We celebrate Blue Note Records with heritage tracks and archive from Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ Two's Jazz 625 programme in 1966 where Humphrey Lyttleton was joined by Dizzy Gillespie. Plus as live music from the Blue Note Re:imagined session recorded in the Radio Theatre for Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ 6 Music, and from Kokoroko who are part of the contemporary Jazz 625: The British Explosion.
