Episode 11
Lucy Alexander is joined by three entrepreneurs to watch customers test and score their inventions: a smell-proof dog poo bag, a hand cream and a pirate-themed board game.
Lucy Alexander is joined by three inventors as customers test, review and score their precious products. In today’s episode, Mandy, Jonathan and Cait are all hoping to get the highest scores from the customers and be crowned the day’s winner.
Former theatrical agent Mandy found pleasant family dog walks left her with a distinctly unpleasant problem - what to do with whiffy dog bags? Mandy set about creating a clip-on, hands-free, smell-proof carry bag, with a section for clean bags and a scented section to carry the offending articles.
Inspiration struck for Jonathan and Antonia after Antonia’s hands began to suffer as a result of repeated hand washing during her nursing job. Struggling to find a cream that adequately dealt with her cracked and bleeding hands, the pair researched ingredients and formulas until they came up with a cream that is aimed at nurses but also works for use at home.
Graphic designer Cait and musician and illustrator Matt met when Cait was considering returning to work after a career break looking after her young family. A keen board game player, Cait roped in Matt’s musical and artistic talent to help her dream up a swashbuckling board game set on the Cornish coast and mixing immersive pirate-themed game play with 100 unique pirate characters.
Once all three inventors have watched the customer reviews and given their own thoughts on the feedback, Lucy reveals who has won the coveted The Customer Is Always Right winner’s trophy.
