Episode 5
Lucy Alexander is joined by three entrepreneurs to watch customers test and score a t-shirt that repels liquids and kills bacteria, a monthly subscription baking box and a quirky wine bottle opener.
Three entrepreneurs come together to discover what our cast of customers think of their inventions. Joined in the studio by presenter Lucy Alexander, the nervous inventors watch footage of customers as they unbox, test, review and score their precious products. In this episode, we meet Gerald, Helen and James all hoping to get the highest scores from the customers to be crowned the winner. Budding entrepreneur Gerald’s interest in fashion was to be the inspiration for his invention, a unisex t-shirt which repels water-based liquids and kills odour-causing bacteria. Nutritionist Helen found her product inspiration through her interest in healthy eating. Keen to find a way to connect parents and kids through cooking, Helen came up with the idea of a monthly subscription baking box that fits through the letterbox and contains a seasonal recipe card, the dry ingredients needed for the recipe and an activity pack to get the whole family involved. Serial inventor James got his lightbulb moment at his engagement party. On seeing his grandparents struggle to open a bottle of champagne due to arthritis, James came up with a quirky product which fits around the cork and helps lever it from the bottle. After all three inventors have watched the customer reviews and given their own thoughts on the feedback, Lucy reveals who has won the coveted The Customer Is Always Right winner’s trophy.
