Rev'd Gethin Russell Jones

A service led by the Rev'd Gethin Russell Jones, minister of Ararat Baptist church in Cardiff

‘My chains are gone, I’ve been set free.' As lockdown and confinement continue, Gethin Russell-Jones considers what we can learn from the strength of character of two biblical characters who were imprisoned. Joseph - he of the coat of many colours - was incarcerated for a crime he didn’t commit. The apostle Paul was thrown into jail for his beliefs; yet he felt able to proclaim the gospel whilst being held in chains for Christ. There are other examples, John Bunyan and in more recent times, Terry Waite.

Hymns include ‘Amazing grace’, 'O for a thousand tongues to sing’ and ‘Fight the good fight’.
