Orkney and Shetland
Sailing between Orkney and Shetland, the judges see a home inspired by Vikings, a converted ruined steading, and a maritime-themed fisherman’s cottage - but only one can make the final.
Architect and teacher Michael Angus, renowned Glasgow-based interior designer Anna Campbell-Jones and globally recognised lifestyle blogger Kate Spiers scour the country for Scotland’s Βι¶ΉΤΌΕΔ of the Year.
This episode sees them sailing between the Northern Isles, where Michael and Anna take up arms at a Norse-inspired self-build in Shetland which replicates the dimensions of a Viking longhouse.
Over in Orkney, the judges tour a unique family home that has been converted from a ruined steading over the course of 13 years and admire the homemade lamps, furniture and views.
Last to be considered is a maritime-themed fisherman’s cottage in Stromness, where they must decide if small really is beautiful.
Each house is marked out of ten, with the judges looking for unique, well-designed and much-loved homes. But only one will make it through to the final.
