Our first service of the new year comes from St Paul’s Methodist Church in Aberystwyth. On the eve of Epiphany we recall the arrival of the Wise Men at the manger in Bethlehem. The Revd Roger Hides explores the meaning of the word ‘epiphany’ and considers how the birth of a baby in Bethlehem casts light on the darkness in our lives. Hymns include ‘The silent stars shine down on us’, ‘Darkness like a shroud covers the earth’ and ‘King of kings’.
