Bright Lights, Slow Sounds

Elizabeth Alker with her pick of the latest new releases and previews of genre-defying music.

Elizabeth Alker offers a soul-cleansing and peaceful antidote to those early Christmas preparations. There's still plenty of time to get everything done before the big day so we're plodding towards it, and we invite you to slow down and plod with us.

Tonight Elizabeth has ambient Americana from J.R. Bohannon, sublime soundtrack music by Ben Frost and Jean-Michel Blais and the exclusive first play of brand new work by David Holmes. We'll also hear Floating Points' lush Requiem for CS70 and Strings, Robin Richards from the band Dutch Uncles with music inspired by a visit to a Welsh blacksmiths' forge, and the electroacoustic experimentation of Francois Bonnet meets the powerful drone of Stephen O'Malley.
