Mick Jones from Foreigner

Foreigner guitarist and co-founder Mick Jones chooses his Rock God. Plus, Johnnie throws the spotlight on one of the first ever all-girl rock bands for This Week in Rock.

Mick Jones hit the big time with Foreigner, but the British guitarist and songwriter was already something of a rock veteran when the band got together in 1976. Previously a member of Spooky Tooth, the Leslie West Band and also the leader of Johnny Hallyday's band, Mick formed Foreigner in New York City with King Crimson's Ian McDonald and American singer Lou Gramm. Huge hits followed and Foreigner shifted millions of records, til Gramm's departure in the early '90's. The band is still together, now with Kelly Hansen on vocals, and recently celebrated 40 years of Foreigner. There was even a reunion with original vocalist, Lous Gramm last year. Foreigner recently headlined the Ramblin' Man Fair in Maidstone. Mick's Rock God is a heavy-hitter and he has a great story about playing guitar with his hero, something which many guitarists will be rather envious of. Elsewhere on the show, Johnnie focuses on one of the first ever all-girl rock bands for 'This Week In Rock'. He will also play the cream of this week's new rock releases and of course, a slew of stone-cold rock classics.
