Sarah Waters Introduces - The Yellow Wallpaper

Dramatised from the 1892 short story by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman. A woman is taken to the country by her doctor husband in order to cure her of an unnamed illness - post-natal depression - after the birth of a child.

Instructed to have total rest and emptiness of mind and avoid stimulating company, the woman sinks into a still-deeper depression. Alone in the top floor nursery of a rented house, she becomes obsessed with the yellow wallpaper and descends into madness.

Dramatised from the 1892 short story by American writer Charlotte Perkins Gilman.
