Part documentary, part live event, the show will feature tracks from the live special, alongside classic Jazz 625 archive and contemporary interviews.
New performances will include Rolling Stone’s drummer Charlie Watts in a rare jazz performance with Scott Hamilton playing Duke Ellington, Joshua Redman playing Thelonious Monk and Jacqui Dankworth covering her mother, Cleo Laine. There will also be a special headline appearance from Gregory Porter.
The programme will also relive classic moments from Oscar Peterson, Dave Brubeck, Art Blakey and Ronnie Scott from the original show.
