In this week’s show Adam takes a sneaky peek at what’s coming up in the re-launched Cardiff Science Festival. The Festival will be popping up in unexpected venues across the city including shops and cafes and will address topics as diverse as Will A Robot Take My Job? to urban wildlfe and an attempt to save the planet from environmental disaster in just 90 minutes!

Adam gets an overview of the event from Festival organiser Dr. Matthew Allen. Matthew will also be running a session called Touch the Stars which helps people with limited sight experience the wonders of the night sky – from a 3D model of the surface of Mars which allows you to feel the topography of the red planet to the sound of two black holes colliding.

Adam talks to Dr. Scott Morgan who’ll be posing that thorny question Will A Robot Take My Job? Scott is interested in how we educate people and prepare society for a future where technology will take over more and more of the roles which human beings have traditionally fulfilled. And we hear from Alice Gray who’ll be recording a podcast during the Festival called A Plan to Save the World. With her colleagues Tay and Vicki, a panel of experts and – most crucially – cake, they’ll be trying to solve a planet-sized environmental issue.

²Ñ±ð²¹²Ô·É³ó¾±±ô±ð,Ìý Science Café reporter Jeremy Grange is out and about around the city to find out more about other Festival events: a wildlife walk in Cardiff Bay Wetlands and Museum After Dark, an evening of activities and surprises at the National Museum Cardiff.

The Festival runs from Thursday 28th February to Sunday 3rd March.
