Abattoir Regulations - In an aim to improve animal welfareΒ standards, CCTV has been made mandatory in all areas of slaughterhouses in Scotland. The new measures follow England, which brought the legislation into force in 2018.Β CCTV, however,Β is not yet mandatory inΒ Wales' abattoirs, although the Welsh Assembly last year introduced a funding package to help the medium and smaller sites with installation costs.
