Carrog Shingle - many rivers through farms have been dredged or canalised to reduce the flooding of fields but the National Trust is turning the clock back on a river that runs through its newly acquired farm in Penmachno, Snowdonia. The Uwch Conwy Catchment Project, at Carrog Farm is part of a wider UK attempt to reduce flooding and restore biodiversity and for the Trust, and its project partner Natural Resources Wales, the scheme is considered to be a conservation first as they deploy an interesting technique to move stone from one side of the river to the other
