In the presence of members of the Royal Family and of Her Majesty’s Government, the official national commemoration of the centenary of the end of World War One, live from Westminster Abbey. The service will commemorate the armistice signed between the Allies and Germany at Compiègne, France, for the cessation of hostilities on the Western Front, which took effect at eleven o'clock in the morning — the ‘eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month’ of 1918. The service is led by the Dean of Westminster, and the preacher is the Archbishop of Canterbury, the Most Reverend and Right Honourable Justin Welby. Commentator: Martin Bashir.
