Beatha na sgoile fad bliadhna troimh shΓΉilean tidsear, pΓ rant agus na sgoilearan. Following a primary school year through the eyes of a teacher, a parent and pupils.
This documentary gives a beautiful insight into life in school as we follow the school year through the eyes of a teacher, a parent and pupils at the Gaelic unit at Gilcomstoun Primary School in Aberdeen. It is an emotional journey.
On the first day of the new term, we’re at Abby’s house as she gets ready for her first day at school. And it’s a big day at the end of the school year when primary seven put on their leaving show for their families and the rest of the school – the end of a seven-year journey for them.
Between the ages of five and twelve, school is at the heart of our lives and the bond between pupil and teacher is strong. This is the first class for teacher Iain Murdo Macmillan, and he has a big decision to make at Easter. There are tears and there is laughter as we follow the highs and lows of a year in primary school.
