The Findhorn Foundation

Nicola Singleton visits The Findhorn Foundation, where a world-renowned community has blossomed from one family’s garden.

In the final episode of the series, gardening expert Nicola Singleton visits The Findhorn Foundation, on the Moray coast, where a world-renowned community has blossomed from one family’s garden.

Founded in the 1960’s, The Findhorn Foundation draws people from around the world to explore both spirituality and sustainability through teaching, working and communal living. Today, their market garden plays a key role in nourishing the community, and we talk to staff and volunteers about their gardening philosophy.

Craig Gibsone, a community elder, shares his experience of the Foundation’s development over the past 50 years, while Jonathan Caddy, son of two of the original founders of the community, explains why growing food has always been at the heart of their activities.

Frankie Vaughan heads to the kitchen to hear how the garden produce is put to good use, and we celebrate the end of the series with a lovingly prepared lunch, together with 160 staff, guests and volunteers!
