More about the programme
is a condition in which cells which resemble the lining of the womb grow outside the uterus. If not diagnosed early and treated appropriately it can cause severe disruption to a woman's life.
It causes pain and can lead to bowel and bladder problems, as well as infertility.
In some cases, complicated surgery is needed.Β It is recommended that this should take place at an endometriosis centre, where gynecologists operate alongside bowel surgeons and urologists.Β Wales only has one such centre, based in Cardiff. But that centreΒ is currently struggling to meet the demand.
Eye On Wales hears three women tell their stories of their struggle with this disease, and their fight to get better treatment in Wales.
