Getting the message across
Adam Walton explores different ways that scientists can get their message across, and help to de-mystify complex concepts and ideas.
Cardiff based astronomer Dr Edward Gomez, and illustrator Laura Sorvala chat to Adam about their science themed comic book "Ada's Adventures In Science", which tells the story of a young girl who has a curiosity about the world, and wants to know the answers to a string of questions. It's hoped the comic book will be distributed to schools and encourage an interest in science.
Dr Siobhan Vye from Bangor University's School of Ocean Sciences joins Adam to outline the importance of recruiting "citizen scientists" to survey our diverse coastlines. A lot of useful information can be gathered by interested amateurs, and make a valuable contribution to research.
Neuroscience tutor Dean Burnett from Cardiff University has been using comedy to get across the compexities of the brain for years. He's written two books about the brain, one is an international bestseller, and the second is coming out soon. His unconventional approach dares us to question the way our minds work.
