In the early 1960s a young Scottish actor was in the frame for the lead in a new spy film. Not everyone thought he would be the right choice. Others believed that with a little help he would more than fit the bill. The writer David Ashton imagines how a young Sean Connery might have been tried and tested to show he was the perfect man for the job.
