The Nutcracker; Shrek the Musical; Book Group
Janice Forsyth talks to Scottish Ballet's artistic director Christopher Hampson and dancer Andrew Peasgood about this year's tour of The Nutcracker.
It's time for Janice's monthly Book Group! This month we've been reading The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe by C.S. Lewis. Cameron Orr and his twelve year old twins Will and Catherine, and Catrina Rose come in to give their opinions on the classic tale.
Anne Ellis visits Siobhan Healy to see her butterflies... Siobhan is an artist inspired by rare species of flora and fauna. She depicts sculptural imagery of endangered species in clear crystal, which is then transformed into prints with diamond dust and gold leaf to invoke a sense of the precious, transient nature of these organisms. Richard Bull produces the package.
Artistic director of Glasgow's Citizens theatre, Dominic Hill, brings in two of his upcoming cast members to talk about their initiative of encouraging new talent in their productions. Jatinder Singh Randhawa, who usually works as part of the front of house staff, joins the cast of Cinderella this year, so she talks about how she feels about the opportunity.
Kate Florio talks to Steffan (Shrek) and Aberdonian Call the Midwife star Laura (Princess Fiona), who turned on the Edinburgh Christmas Lights and perform at the Edinburgh Playhouse from the 12th of December 2017 until the 7th of January 2018.
