Ruth tries to play match-maker, and is it goodbye to an Ambridge tradition?
Toby reminds Pip about the quiz night later. Pip's not keen. Toby's discomfited to learn she's been showing a new young farmer, Alfie, around - is he good looking? Amused by Toby's bluster, Pip teasingly concedes she'll think about going to the quiz. Her decision's cemented when Ruth announces she's invited Alfie to supper. She feels like her mum's trying to set her up.
At the quiz Roy comments to Lexi that Ian's bad mood at work could be down to Adam being questioned by the police. He must be worried. Lexi asserts it's Roy she's worried about; he's having to cover too many of Ian's mistakes. Roy assures her he can handle it. But later when Emma indulges in gossip over the hit and run, Roy jumps down her throat. Undeterred, Emma takes the opportunity at the quiz to do some canvassing. Contrite Roy declares she has his vote, and his snappiness is forgiven.
Pip begins to regret her decision when Toby's a no show at the quiz and she's drafted on to another team. She's feeling tired and admits to not being on top form. Toby finally appears as the evening's breaking up, and can't understand Pip's irritation - after all they're not dating are they? They bicker, and go their separate ways.
