Midlands bands now and then

The Midlands has produced some banding giants down the years and some of them are recalled by archivist Tim Mutum and Frank Renton.

What have the following bands got in common? One was the first band to play behind the Iron Curtain, another the first band to appear on TV, and yet another had the dubious distinction of being voted 4th place in a poll of the worst brass band uniforms. Well they are all former banding giants of the Midlands recalled by archivist Tim Mutum with Frank Renton.
