The Ryanair Crisis - 400,000 With Wrecked Travel Plans, Universal Credit & Problematic Private Parking Companies

Nearly half a million Ryanair passengers are caught in yet more cancellations - what are their rights? Advice NI on Universal Credit and do we need a parking ombudsman here?

This week: the Ryanair crisis continues as another 400,000 passengers have been left high and dry - as the ruined travel plans continue to worsen, solicitor Tony Caher is live in studio to discuss what passengers are entitled to and how to make the claim.

Universal Credit has just rolled out in Limavady this week, and will continue to roll out right across N Ireland for the next 12 months. Linda has visited the Jobs and Benefits centre in Limavady to go through the process of applying for this...however is Universal Credit going to become a universal problem? Kevin Higgins of Advice NI, an advice and debt charity has called for it to be suspended as new claimants for Universal Credit in Britain, where it is already in place, are being left for up to six weeks without a payment.

And private parking companies - this is a regular complaint to On Your Behalf as these companies impose regular fines, and if this wasn't enough, there's no independent appeals process. We hear from several listeners in this position including Charles, who got in touch with On Your Behalf after his 84 year old Mother in Law got a fine in a car park in Omagh - despite the fact that she'd bought a ticket. In Northern Ireland there is nowhere to go to appeal these - do we need a Parking Ombudsman here?
