Belinda Carlisle chats to Sara about her phenomenal career in the 80's - from fronting the Go-Go's to going solo, and celebrating the 30th anniversary of her number one smash hit 'Heaven is a Place on Earth'.

Belinda's second solo album 'Heaven On Earth' peaked at number 4 on the UK album chart in 1988, was certified triple platinum, and featured four top 40 singles - Heaven Is A Place On Earth, I Get Weak, Circle In The Sand and World Without You.

Starting her music career as a punk mad teenager in California, Belinda and her girlfriends formed a band - The Go-Go's (famous for their hit Our Lips Are Sealed). Belinda shares her 'on the road' stories with Sara such as trashing a hotel room... and then cleaning it up afterwards; trying and failing to gain male groupies on the road; and what it was like supporting The Police... and then knocking them off the number one spot with the album 'Beauty and the Beat' while on tour of The States! Sara surprises Belinda with footage of the Go-Go's' first UK TV appearance from ΒιΆΉΤΌΕΔ TV show The Old Grey Whistle Test in 1981, and there's a chance to see the iconic Diane Keaton directed video for 'Heaven Is A Place On Earth'. They also chat about Belinda's new album 'Wilder Shores' (which incorporates her love of chanting) and the benefits of experiencing the more spiritual side of life. There's a chance to see the video for her number four UK hit 'Leave A Light On' which The Beatles' George Harrison played guitar on.
