The humble pair of trainers have been integral to presenter John Rutledge’s wardrobe. Though at the age of 40, he’s starting to wonder if he’s just too old to pull off the look.

John Rutledge is facing a dilemma. He’s been obsessed with trainers since the playground explosion of the 80's, but now at the tender age of 40 is he too old to wear them?
Join him on an epic journey of self-discovery. Can a posh etiquette specialist make him swap his basketball boots for brogues? Does a one on one with a shoe historian convince him otherwise? And finally, will a visit to the podiatrist overstep the mark and send his trainers back into the box for good?
