The Rule of the Land by Garrett Carr (Omnibus)
Mapmaker Garrett Carr follows the border exploring landscapes and people who make up the UK’s fragile borderland with Ireland.
Travelling on foot and by canoe, mapmaker Garrett Carr follows the border between the UK and Ireland.
In search of the landscapes and people who make up this fragile borderland, he finds fresh uncertainty in the wake of the Brexit vote.
As his journey continues he meets the border natives who knows the land better than anyone - the farmers; at the twistiest stretch of the border, the author battles with boy racers on the narrow roads of County Fermanagh.
And at the end of his journey he considers the notion of 'border' in the dual city of Derry/Londonderry.
