Film Day with a review of the live-action remake of Beauty and the Beast, plus Janice hears from director Bill Condon
Janice Forsyth has a review of Beauty and the Beast, plus she hears from its director, Bill Condon. Also reviewed are Personal Shopper starring Kristen Stewart and The Olive Tree.
It's Film Day, we'll review the much anticipated Beauty and The Beast - a live action version of the classic Disney animation in which a woman is imprisoned in an enchanted castle, and hear from the director himself, Bill Condon.
Regular Critics, Siobhan Synnot and Eddie Harrison will share their thoughts on it, and on this week's other big cinema releases: including Director Olivier Assayas's new film, Personal Shopper - starring Kristen Stewart: it's a fascinating ghost story...and a drama...and an erotic psychological thriller..and a whodunnit!
They will also review The Olive Tree - a bittersweet tale of familial and environmental activism, and hear from the director Iciar Bollain.
Later in the show, we will discuss The Glasgow Short Film Festival - back for its 10th edition with 32 films from 24 different countries: Janice will speak to Festival Director Matt Lloyd and short filmmaker Gunhild Enger.
And away from movies, Finlay Morton, a Scottish musician who once was the sound engineer at Ten Downing Street (and whose first job was Margaret Thatcher's leaving speech in 1990!) will be dropping by to chat about his new album
