More about the programme:

It was nearly 14 years ago that Dr Barry Morgan was installed as the 12thΒ Β  Archbishop of Wales.Β  He is now the longest-serving Archbishop in the worldwide Anglican Communion, and he retires at the end of the month.

A bishop for almost a quarter of a century, first in Bangor and for the past 18 years in Llandaff, he has been a robust advocate of change, both in the church he leads and in the global Anglican fellowship.Β Β  His opinions are also sought on a wide range of social and political issues, and he takes many opportunities to offer a radical Christian perspective.

Inevitably, this has enthused some, and worried the more conservative, and he has faced the tricky on going dilemma of balancing the need to speak out strongly with the responsibility of holding together a church in which many might disagree with him on particular issues.

Archbishop Barry Morgan is Roy Jenkins’ guest for this first edition of All Things Considered of 2017.
