The Attica Prison Riot

One man's memories of a very public siege in a high security jail in the USA.

In September 1971 prisoners in a high security jail the USA turned on their guards taking 42 people hostage. After 4 days of negotiations, armed police retook the jail. By the time the siege ended 39 people were dead. Rebecca Kesby has spoken to Carlos Roache, a former prisoner who took part in the uprising.
