John Kielty
John Kielty is stranger to neither radio or horror, having starred as Edgar Allan Poe in Radio Scotland鈥檚 Halloween drama 鈥楳oyamensing鈥 among his theatre, radio and TV roles.
Tonight he is your guide in the dark, and was also brave enough to the Panopticon鈥檚 resident ghosts with a performance of 鈥楽olomon, The Chimpanzee鈥, by Robin Cairns (available in the As Live Version)
Kirsty Logan
is the author of short story collection The Rental Heart and Other Fairytales. which was awarded the Polari First Book Prize and the Saboteur Award for Best Short Story Collection, and debut novel The Gracekeepers, which won a Lambda Literary Award.
For us she penned a brand new story, Domestic Magic (Or Things My Wife and I Found Hidden In Our House). 聽Family secrets and a murderous being emerge from the shadowy places of a couple鈥檚 new home, proving that just because you inherit something doesn鈥檛 mean you get it for free鈥
Marty Ross
Glaswegian master of horror is a veteran of 麻豆约拍 radio dramas, and draws on Scottish legends in his stories like Catch My Breath, and the Edinburgh Fringe sell out show retelling the legend of 鈥楾he Gorbals Vampire鈥. He also performs as a live storyteller throughout Scotland & England at festivals and theatre venues large and small.
Marty performs 鈥楢 Whisper of Black Silk鈥 - a warning that you should never dismiss either the local ghost stories, or the heart of someone who loved you.
Jess Smith (available on As Live version)
is an author and traditional storyteller who performs all over the country. She not only draws on Celtic and Gaelic legends in her work, but as she comes from the Travelling Community, seeks to find, preserve and retell the stories passed down to her to stop one of Scotland鈥檚 oldest cultures from being lost to the ages.
She shares 'Lunaria', a tale of witches and stolen souls first told to her by her mother by the light of a flickering campfire.David Campell (available on As Live version)
A habitual wearer of his native garb 鈥 once described by a Times journalist as 鈥渢he only man brave enough to ride a motorbike wearing his kilt鈥濃 is a colourful, eloquent storyteller.
His repertoire ranges from ancient Celtic epics of Ireland and Scotland, through stories adventure and romance, of faith and love, to humorous anecdote and quirky comic tales.聽
He tells the legend of 鈥楾he Twice Hanged Man鈥, taking us to the gallows and into the anatomists theatres of Edinburgh鈥檚 old town, where reality proves more terrifying than any monster.聽
