Karen Darke and Trampoline Fitness
Paralympic cyclist Karen Darke talks about what she plans to do with her life after Rio, plus Gillian Russell asks listeners if they would consider trampolining as an exercise.
Paralympic cyclist Karen Darke has returned to Inverness from Rio (one gold medal, one disqualification) so after years of training how on earth do you find focus in your life once the Games are over? Gillian Russell asks Karen whether she intends to rest, enjoy the junk food, reconnect with family and friends ... or find a whole new goal to work towards? And if there is to be a new goal, does it have to be bigger and better than the last one?
Have you ever considered trampolining as a form of fitness ... or do you tend to dismiss it as being something for the kids? With more trampoline parks and classes springing up (!), Personal Best explores the physical and mental health benefits of a good bounce.
Fancy trying mindfulness but you've never quite known where to start? Each week Helen MacRae from KSD Highlands, a charity that teaches mindfulness and meditation, is setting us a simple task to try at home. This week it's eating a piece of fruit.
