Child Bereavement UK

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement. Our vision is for all families to have access to the support they need to enable them to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies.Β

Supporting Families

Supporting Families

When a precious baby or child dies, or when a child experiences the death of someone important to them, lives are shattered. But with the right support, families can begin to piece the fragments back together.Β  Child Bereavement UK provides face-to-face support at a number of locations across the country, offering individual, couple and family sessions and groups for parents, children and young people. We also provide telephone support for those who are unable to access direct support where they live.

The Child Bereavement UK helpline number is 0800 02 888 40

Training Professionals

Training Professionals

Child Bereavement UK’s comprehensive training is based on our 21 years’ experience of learning from families we have supported. Every year we train more than 7,000 professionals, including teachers, midwives, doctors, emergency services and social workers, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families. We know that sensitive and appropriate support can have a huge impact on the future wellbeing of families and can make a real difference to how they manage their grief.

Providing Support and Information

Providing Support and Information

Our national helpline receives over 3,000 enquiries per year from families and professionals seeking a listening ear, guidance and information in often distressing circumstances. A bereaved mother who called the helpline after the death of her twins said: β€œI called Child Bereavement UK. Immediately we had the lifeline to make survival possible.”
