The role of the support crew, plus Get It On presenter Bryan Burnett's favourite run
Gillian Russell explores the importance of the support crew in helping athletes reach their goals, plus she joins Bryan Burnett on one of his favourite runs in Pollok Park.
Gillian Russell and Producer Suzy Beaumont look at the role of the support crew to help athletes to reach their goals. The athletes know they couldn't succeed without the team behind them. But just how do the support team feel about being in the background when the athlete reaps all the glory and the medals of the win? Sports Psychologist and support crew member Misha Botting shares his experiences.
Paralympic cyclist Fiona Duncan talks about how she got into tandem cycling, what she likes about being a tandem pilot and how her work as a police officer helped to put the highs and lows of international competition into perspective.
Get It On presenter Bryan Burnett takes Gillian on one of his favourite running routes - round Pollok Park in Glasgow - and talks about why he regrets not sticking in at sport as a youngster, what he gets out of running both physically and mentally ... and why he likes lots of pizza after a marathon!
